Emma's therapy style

I believe that each person possesses personal strengths that can help him or her cope with a variety of life circumstances.  My focus in therapy is to help you identify your strengths and use them to your advantage.  In essence, I help my clients develop a language of strength.  Although it may be harder for people to talk about or even identify positive qualities and personal strengths, my theory is that people who use their strengths regularly will function better in life.

I work at finding ways to foster hope in order to increase your ability to deal with adversity and overcome challenges. I do this by reducing the scope of the problem, breaking it down into components that can be tackled one at a time. I identify skills and coping mechanisms that enable you to overcome a particular challenge.
